Peace Corps Coverdell Fellows
Wheelock is proud to partner with the Peace Corps to offer the Paul D. Coverdell Fellows program. Through this program, returned Peace Corps volunteers who are accepted into Wheelock’s Integrated Elementary and Special Education master’s program or our Nonprofit Leadership master’s program are eligible for financial assistance, specially designed field placement opportunities, and other benefits.
City Year Scholarships
Wheelock master’s students who have spent a year working as mentors and tutors with City Year are eligible for University Partnership scholarships that provide a 25-percent overall tuition discount. Since 2010 when the partnership began, 47 City Year corps members have enrolled at Wheelock.
Americorps + Wheelock’s Nonprofit Leadership Master’s
This special partnership is designed to develop emerging leaders at nonprofit organizations that are focused on civic engagement and social justice. Incoming graduate students in the Nonprofit Leadership program who have completed previous service in an Americorps organization are eligible for scholarships.
Boston and Brookline Public Schools Partnership
Wheelock’s education programs have a distinct multicultural and urban orientation, which is strengthened by our partnership with Boston Public Schools and Brookline Public Schools. In addition to providing our students with extensive and varied classroom experiences, this partnership has resulted in creation of a special program designed to support the districts’ commitments to improve literacy instruction in multilingual urban schools. Wheelock’s Reading Specialist Master’s for BPS and Brookline Teachers program allows qualified teachers to earn Massachusetts licensure as a reading specialist for grades k-12, at a discounted tuition rate.
